About Us & What We Do
What is Grazed Valley Beef?
We founded our paddock-to-plate operation in 2024 on a simple belief that there were major issues within the modern food system. We became increasingly concerned by how disconnected people are from where their food comes from, and how little transparency exists around how most beef is actually produced.
Many people don’t realise that much of the beef available today comes from feedlots, is grain-fed, and is produced in systems that prioritise speed and efficiency over animal welfare, land care, and nutritional quality. After seeing common problems across the industry, we set out to raise the standard. There was no consistent offering of genuinely clean, grass-fed and grass-finished beef available year-round – backed by complete transparency and full traceability from paddock to plate.
Consumers deserve to know exactly where their beef comes from, how it was raised, and who produced it. Grazed Valley Beef is built on strong partnerships, working exclusively with our partnered farmer. We pay a fair price for their cattle and ensure every purchase directly supports them, their land, and their livestock. Every animal is traceable, and we openly share that information so customers can feel confident in what they’re buying and understand that our beef is 100% naturally raised without the use of antibiotics, hormones or grain.
We created something different-an operation that puts animal welfare, responsible land stewardship, and consumer trust first. Grazed Valley Beef exists to challenge the status quo and raise the standard for what beef should be, and that’s exactly what we continue to do today.
Does Grazed Valley Beef Practice Regenerative Farming?
Yes – our partnered farmer, Denmark Beef, has been dedicated to regenerative farming practices for generations. These practices go beyond conventional methods, focusing on planned grazing rotations, improving soil health, enhancing carbon sequestration, boosting water retention, and fostering a thriving pasture ecosystem – all without the use of harmful
chemicals or GMOs.
By working in harmony with nature, Denmark Beef not only preserves the land but actively restores and enhances it, supporting long-term sustainability and ecological balance. This approach ensures that the beef you enjoy from Grazed Valley is naturally raised, tender, full of flavour, and produced with care for the environment and future generations.
Product Information & Ingredients
What does grass-fed, grass-finished mean?
Grass-fed, grass-finished beef means the cattle have been raised entirely on pasture and have consumed a natural diet of grass for their entire lives – from start to finish.
It’s important to understand that not all beef labelled “grass-fed” is genuinely grass finished. In many cases, cattle may begin on pasture but are later grain-fed in large commercial feedlots. In Australia, beef can still be labelled “grass-fed” even if the cattle has been grain-fed for up to 88 days – and this does not need to be disclosed. This can be misleading for consumers who believe they’re buying truly grass-fed, grass-finished beef.
We’re committed and passionate to sourcing and providing 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef. Our cattle remain on pasture for their entire lives and eat only what nature intended – no grain, ever.
What breed is your cattle?
Our cattle are Black Angus. We firmly believe this breed offers superior genetics and consistently produces beef that is exceptionally tender, rich in flavour, naturally nutrient-dense, and of premium quality
Is your beef organic certified?
While we’re not formally organic certified, all of our cattle are raised on natural, chemical-free pastures and are 100% grass-fed, grass-finished – with absolutely no hormones, antibiotics, or grain used at any stage.
We take both passion and pride in working with our partnered farmer, which is deeply committed to ethical, sustainable, and regenerative farming practices. So, while we may not carry the organic label, we still meet the exact standards and quality, integrity, and care behind our beef.
Are the cattle vaccinated with the mRNA vaccine?
Rest assured, our partnered farmer doesn’t use mRNA vaccines, as they are not approved for use in Australian livestock. Our farmer is committed to natural, safe ethical practices and would never adopt such methods.
Do you use any vaccines?
Our cattle receive a single dose of the 5-in-1 vaccine at calf stage, which protects against Pulpy Kidney (Enterotoxemia), tetanus (Clostridium tetani), and other common bacterial diseases. These bacteria are widespread across Western Australia, and without vaccination, unprotected animals face a painful and often fatal outcome.
Vaccinating calves against these diseases is essential for animal welfare and has been a trusted practice
in Australian farming for many decades. This is the only vaccine our cattle receive.
Do you use Rumin8 or Bovaer?
No – Rumin8 and Bovaer are methane-reducing feed additives used in conventional grain-fed systems. Our beef is raised naturally on a 100% grass-fed, grass-finished diet, allowing our cattle to graze freely on nutrient-rich pastures and produce healthy, clean, and naturally flavourful beef, just as nature intended.
Is your beef halal?
Yes, all our beef is processed at a local halal-certified abattoir. We ensure that all halal requirements are strictly followed, providing peace of mind for customers who choose halal-certified products.
Are your BBQ sausages gluten-free?
Our BBQ sausages are a culinary favourite, with a natural collagen casing and an award winning spice blend that really speaks for itself. While we strive to keep our products as wholesome as possible, some ingredients may contain allergens or gluten.

Do I need to cook grass-fed beef differently?
Yes – grass-fed, grass-finished beef is naturally leaner than grain-fed beef, so it benefits from a slightly different cooking approach. For best results, we recommend cooking over medium heat and reducing the cooking time by around 30% when grilling, barbecuing or pan frying.
Grass-fed, grass-finished beef is best enjoyed rare to medium-rare, as overcooking can cause it to lose tenderness and flavour. To ensure perfect doneness, we suggest using a meat thermometer.
Once cooked to rare, remove the meat from the heat and allow it to rest for 10-20 minutes before slicing (ideally wrapped in foil). This resting period allows the juices to redistribute through the meat, resulting in exceptional, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and a more flavoursome eating experience.
Who is your partnered farmer?
Grazed Valley proudly partners with Denmark Beef, a local Western Australian cattle farmer based in Denmark, in the Great Southern region. This iconic and world renowned area provides the ideal environment for raising premium Black Angus cattle.
Denmark Beef runs cattle on diverse, nutrient-rich native bush pastures year-round, allowing them to graze freely in clean, natural conditions. By working closely with Denmark Beef, we maintain full control and transparency over every stage of production – from paddock-to-plate.
Through our on-farm assurance program, every order is fully traceable, so you know the origin of your beef. This partnership ensures the beef on your plate is naturally raised, tender, honest, and pure, reflecting the quality of the land it comes from – and that’s our promise.
Packaging, Storage, and Freshness
Is My Order Delivered Fresh or Frozen?
Your order is delivered 100% fresh – never frozen – so you can enjoy our premium quality beef at its best, right away. Freshness guaranteed, for your peace of mind.
How does my meat come packed?
All of our beef is fresh and labelled for easy identification of the cut and cryovac-packed (vacuum-sealed) in individual portions. This process removes air and oxygen from the packaging, helping to preserve freshness, prevent freezer burn, and maintain the meat’s tenderness.
How long will my cryovac-packed meat last in the fridge?
Providing the packaging stays sealed and the meat is stored at the right temperature (below 4°C), our cryovac-packed beef will keep fresh in the fridge for at least 2 weeks. For the best flavour and quality, we recommend using it within this time or freezing. For sausages, it’s best to consume them within 1-2 days or freeze them to maintain their optimal freshness.
How long will the meat last frozen in my freezer?
When stored properly in your freezer, our meat will keep for over 16 months. Due to the vacuum-sealed cryovac packaging, freezer burn is prevented, helping to preserve our beef’s quality, tenderness, and flavour.
What size freezer do I need for beef portions?
The freezer size you’ll need depends on the amount of beef you plan to store. As a guide:
- Whole Beef Portion: Approximately 350L freezer capacity
- Half Beef Portion: Approximately 175L freezer capacity
- Quarter Beef Portion: Approximately 90L freezer capacity
These recommendations allow enough space not only for the beef itself but also for good air circulation, which helps maintain consistent freezing and preserves quality. If you plan to store other items alongside your beef, we suggest choosing a slightly larger freezer to accommodate everything comfortably.
Can I Choose to Have My Order Left in Primal Cuts?
Yes, you can choose to have your order left in primal cuts. If you prefer to handle your own butchering or portioning at home, simply let us know at the time of ordering and we’ll ensure your beef is delivered in larger, uncut primal sections.

We offer flexible shipping options to suit your needs. At checkout, you can choose to collect your order from a convenient pickup hub location nearest to your home. Alternatively, for an additional fee, we can arrange delivery directly to your door – if required, please contact us to organise this service.
When do you deliver my order?
We process and deliver orders on a monthly basis, with deliveries scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays. As the entire processing period takes approximately 3–4 weeks, we coordinate deliveries to arrive at our designated hub locations for convenient collection. Once the delivery schedule is finalised, we’ll keep you informed with updates via email and text message, so you know exactly when and where to collect your order.
How do you deliver my order?
Your order is carefully packed in our heavy-duty cardboard meat boxes and delivered straight to our pickup hub locations or your door in our brand-new refrigerated vans. Our vehicles and handling comply fully with the National Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 and use the latest refrigeration technology to keep your meat fresh and in perfect condition, from our processor directly to you.
Why do you require a deposit?
We require a deposit to secure your order due to our limited processing capacity. This deposit confirms your commitment to the purchase, enabling us to prioritise your order and prevent overbooking. Without confirmed deposits, there is a risk of processing animals without guaranteed sales, which is neither ethical nor efficient. This policy helps ensure our operations remain aligned with our values of ethical, sustainable and responsible practices.
How Will I Be Charged for Carcass Weight?
You are charged only for the actual weight of the beef carcass immediately after slaughter – that is, once the hide, head, hooves, and internal organs have been removed, but before any further processing. The carcass is weighed at this stage, and your payment is calculated accordingly, with your initial deposit deducted from the final amount.
Because the meat you receive (boxed weight) is trimmed and portioned, it will weigh less than the dressed carcass. This natural reduction is factored into the pricing, so you’re only paying for the true weight of the animal’s carcass, not for processing losses.
Simply put, you pay fairly based on the dressed carcass weight and receive premium-quality, trimmed cuts that provide you with months of easy-to-cook meals.
Carcass Weight vs Boxed Weight
Carcass Weight, also called dressed weight, is the weight of the animal after slaughter once the hide, head, hooves, and internal organs have been removed. This is the raw carcass weight before any further processing. Boxed Weight is the weight of the beef you receive. It’s the dressed carcass broken down into portioned cuts, trimmed, and packed ready for delivery. Boxed weight yields approximately 65% of the dressed weight total, as it excludes bones, excess fat, and trimmings.
